September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.

– Join 2025 Culture Days events that highlight Indigenous voices through art and community storytelling

– Browse the 2025 reading list from the Downie & Wenjack Fund, featuring Indigenous authors and stories that deepen understanding and support reconciliation

– Watch CBC’s 2025 selection of Indigenous-led films and documentaries that reflect on truth, resilience, and the legacy of residential schools

– Explore Ancestors Voices, a national music education program featuring Indigenous artists and songs that honour Truth and Reconciliation. Congrats to Adrian Sutherland for being recognized as an Ancestors Voices 2025 Artist!
