Toronto Comic Arts Festival’s Word Balloon Academy 2025 – Creative Law 101

Join Edwards Creative Law’s entertainment lawyer Michael Duboff for the Word Balloon Academy on June 6, 2025 in Toronto. Michael will host a conversational session “Creative Law 101” and Q&A from 2pm – 3pm on the fundamentals of being a comics creator when it comes to creative law, copyright, publishing agreements and more.

Word Balloon Academy (WBA) is the Toronto Comic Arts Festival’s in-person full day of FREE professional development, skills-building and career management programming for comics creators. Taking place on the Friday just before the main festival (June 7-8), WBA allows emerging comics professionals to delve into the ins and outs of making comics with comic and creative industry professionals.
